The diamond is also the 2nd largest rough diamond ever found after the Cullinan. The third largest diamond ever found weighing at 995 carats is the Excelsior diamond also discovered in a South African mine in 1893. The diamond was eventually owned by De Beers and cut into 21 separate stones, the largest of which is the 67 carat cushion cut diamond which is hardly on public display as it is owned by a private collector.

The fourth largest diamond ever found was the Star of Sierra Leone and it is also the largest alluvial diamond that was ever discovered to date. This diamond is currently on display in a museum located in Antwerp, Belgium.
