Do you consider your iPhone as an extension of yourself? You’re not alone! iPhones go beyond answering calls and replying to text messages. They hold your schedules, store your precious memories and provide a constant stream of information and entertainment at your fingertips. With so much power at the palm of your hands, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Continue reading to discover valuable tips and tricks for simplifying your life and using the iPhone to its full potential.
Prevent Apps From Tracking Your Location
Downloading applications is one of the main hobbies of iPhone users. Unfortunately, these applications are designed to track your behavior and preferences for marketing and advertising purposes. Some of the apps might even access your personal information.
Worry not because there’s a way to turn off those apps to see where you are. Go to the Settings app > tap Privacy > choose Location Services. Toggle off the location services.
Take A Screenshot
Do you want to save paper? You don’t need to waste precious ink whenever you need to save a copy of your flight ticket or keep a copy of your electricity bill. You can simply take a screenshot with an iPhone. On your iPhone, there are a few different ways to take a screenshot. If your phone comes with Face ID, hold down the side button to the right of the screen and the volume up button simultaneously to take a screenshot. If you are using an older model, press the Home button and the side button.
Hide Photos From Prying Eyes
Snoopers are everywhere, but iPhone users can stow away their sensitive pictures so they are not viewed easily by everyone. The pictures can be hidden within the Photos application so that they don’t appear in the general photo library. So, even if someone is using your phone and going through your library, your sensitive images will be hidden.
You can hide a photo by tapping on the photo > tapping the share icon > scrolling down and tapping on Hide. The hidden photos can be found by going to Albums and tapping Hidden. However, if you don’t want people to find your Hidden folder at all, you can hide this folder by going to Settings and turning it off within the Photos section.
iOS 16 users can gain a one-up when it comes to hiding sensitive images because the Hidden and Recently Deleted photo albums can be locked using a passcode. So, whoever tries to view the contents must enter the correct passcode.
Remove Apps Without Deleting Them
Do you love trying new applications? That’s alright until your home screen becomes cluttered with dozens of applications. Then, you will find yourself at a loss trying to manage all the applications.
One quick solution to this is deleting the apps from sight but not uninstalling them completely. Long-press an application and choose Remove App. A dialog box will appear asking whether you wish to Delete the App or Remove it from the Home Screen. Choosing the second option means the app icon will be removed from the home screen, but the app will remain in the App Library. You can add it later when required.
Sign Documents
Having prints and scanners at home is a luxury. Frankly, smartphones are becoming so advanced as the days go by that you don’t even need to have scanners and printers at home. An iPhone is all you need to handle your tasks smoothly.
If you did not know, you can use your iPhone to digitally sign documents. Simply take a screenshot of the doc and tap the thumbnail. Tap the Plus sign on the lower-right and choose Signature.
You can directly sign on the screen or use a stored signature. Once you are satisfied, hit Done and drag the signature to the document. Place it in an appropriate place, resize it, and then send the document.
Extract Text From Photo Or Video
iPhones have an effective feature called Live Text. Thanks to this feature, iPhone users can quickly pull editable text out of a video or photo. All you must do is view the picture or pause the video and then tap the small Live Text icon. This will highlight all the text you can copy. Tap the text you wish to copy, hold it, and select copy.
Depending on what your iPhone can read, you will get several action buttons. For instance, you can translate the text into foreign languages. If you are copying a phone number, you can directly call the number, and so on.
